Bourbon Balls are a relatively easy-to-prepare dessert that highlights the pride of Kentucky: Bourbon. These no-bake sweet treats are the perfect dessert offering for any Derby party.
Procedure: Soak Pecans in 1/2 cup Bourbon for 2 or more hours Drain Pecans, saving reserve Bourbon Toast pecans in a single layer in 300 degree oven for 12-15 minutes In a food processor, crumble Vanilla wafers into fine powder Once cooled, crumble toasted Pecans into fine powder In a large mixing bowl, thoroughly blend Vanilla Wafers, Toasted Pecans and Cocoa Powder Add 1/2 cup Bourbon & 2 tablespoons Corn Syrup and mix well Pinch off mixture and roll into 1 inch balls Roll each ball in powdered sugar Refrigerate for 2 hours, minimum Remove Bourbon Balls from refrigerator Bourbon balls will absorb some of the Powdered Sugar while chilling; If desired, roll each ball again in Powdered Sugar before serving.
