It’s been a whole week since the end of the Twenty-Wine Days of February. Having had a few days to reflect (and let my liver rest a bit), I thought I would recap the longest February since 2008.
Did I enjoy every single minute of this journey? No, but what do you ever do in life that is 100% satisfactory? In the end, I mostly enjoyed the wine we consumed and made a little space in the cellar for a few bottles I’ve had my eye on.
And The Rib and I had fun with a few of the pairings: Viognier with gravy and biscuits for Sunday brunch; trying to pair a wine with corn dogs (which I will get right at some point); picking an appropriate wine for cheesesteaks; and pairing a wine with Chipotle takeout to celebrate our anniversary (’cause we’re full-time fancy).
We did open a few wines we would like to revisit (or recommend). The Rib and I each sat down and picked out the five that stood out the most to each of us (and for good measure, picked a sixth “honorable mention”). Here they are:

I’m not sure if it’s a good or bad thing that The Rib and I had a similar list of favorites for the month. But I do know that we’re already looking forward to the 2016 Twenty-Wine days of February…
Cheers from the Corkpit,
